Overview

RX-8 to MX-5 / Miata NC rear knuckle conversion kit – the best-value fix for the NC's well-known weakness: rear hub bearings and flanges that collapse under hard driving. The RX-8 knuckle has a larger bearing housing, larger bearings and a thicker flange, giving a much stronger rear hub for track and fast-road use.

The conversion needs a hybrid pair of driveshafts using the RX-8 automatic's outer joint, which isn't available in the UK – so we import the correct parts from Japan and supply everything for a direct fit. Every imported part is inspected, stripped, vapour blasted and rebuilt before dispatch, and a full technical guide walks you through installation.

We import the knuckles as well as the driveshafts from Japan. UK knuckles often suffer heavy corrosion from winter road salt, while Japanese knuckles look almost new once cleaned up, with very little corrosion.

The standard rubber trailing arm bush is removed during strip-down and not refitted, so the knuckles are ready for your own bushes. We can supply spherical (pillowball) or poly bushes on request – please let us know before paint and reassembly.
